John's Virginia Visit
by John Doroshenk, posted 5/21/2009 10:27:03 AM
This past week I headed back to Virginia for a "surprise" appearance at Alexa's baby shower.  I arrived late Wednesday night after an uneventful flight, much easier flying in the summer then in the winter.  Thursday Mom and I went to surprise Mary as she came out of her doctors appointment.  Mary walked out of the office with me sitting in a chair in the hallway.  She sort of glanced at me and walked by.  I asked her, "You would walk by your own brother?"  To which she turned around with a really crazy look on her face of shock, followed by "John....what are you doing here".  So this surprise worked out great.  We then met up with Alexa before she headed to work and then did some chores with Mom around town.  Thursday night, Jeremiah and Emily picked me up for a night of hanging out with them and the Harrisons for a chill evening.

Friday was Chipotle Day.  We aren't fortunate to have Chipotle out here in Idaho, so I had me a Barbacoa Burrito...mmmm chipotle!!!!!  Friday night after hanging out with  friends and family, it was time to visit Alexa again.  Jason was kind enough to drive his overheating car out to Arlington with myself, Joe, and Rebecca.  We hung out for a while before feeling the need to rock!  Rock band was once again dominated with the usual line up of me on lead axe, Nate on drums, Joe on bass, and Alexa front and center as our songstress.  We stayed up late enough to win us our touring van.

Saturday was Alexa's Baby Shower.  That was a great time with BBQing, beer, cake, and present opening.  Sevi won the rubber band game and took home a winning lotto ticket.

Sunday was for Sevi's surprise 8th birthday party.  Sunday morning, we woke up and all got showered and dressed.  Mom then tells my dad to take Joe and Rebecca to "Trader Joe's".  Since it can't come across in the typed world.  She said this with the inflection of "I'm lying to say actually go to Mary's house for Sevi's surpise party"  To this, Joe asks if he should take Sevi with them to Trader Joe's and Dad starts rummaging through the fridge to figure out what to buy.  He determines Milk and Orange Juice.  Rebecca gives us the look that she understands whats going on and out the door they go.  Luckily Rebecca did understand and was able to tell Joe and Dad to go to Mary's house.  The surpise went great and Sevi seemed to love it.

Monday was a big day for me, I started off in the mornging with Rocknocerous and Cristina and her Girls.  Nothing like a rock concert for 3 year olds.  It was pretty entertaining.  I'm thinking about being a groupie.  That afternoon my folks took me to the National's Game.  That are not ver good, but the stadium is pretty cool and the company was great.

Tuesday was a low key day to end my visit.  The flight home on Delta was just as easy as the flight in.  It was great seeing everyone and hope we can both get back to see everyone including the newest edition Finneous Tucker Neckel .  (Am I close on the name?)
