The Harrison's Come To Idaho
by John Doroshenk, posted 1/23/2009 8:14:07 AM
Last week we were pleased to have our next round of visitors, the Harrison's!  Idaho and Washington have been under an air stagnation warning for almost two weeks now, which means all air is trapped in the region and can't get out, so we've been having freezing fog every day.  This is bad news if you are flying into the region.  So on Wednesday night, the Harrison's got stuck in Salt Lake City for the night, which worked out well so I didn't have to drive 2 hours and get them in Spokane, so instead they flew in Thursday into Lewiston, only 30 minutes from us.

After finally making it back to Moscow, we all unwinded and relaxed for a bit.  Kelly was still at work so you know what that means.  Ferdinand's Ice Cream!  Lyla was especially excited for Ice Cream, cause who doesn't love ice cream?  After that we headed home, ate some dinner, drank some wine, and played some Wii!  Ben and I headed out late night to hit the Moscow Bar Scene and afterwords took Ben to the Late Night Bagel place.

Friday was a nice sunny day we took a stroll to the city park to play in the snow covered playground.

Saturday Kelly and Angela went to the Freeze Your Fanny 5K and ran in the cold fog in Lewiston while ben and I stayed back in Moscow.  The official results aren't in, but I think they tied for the win in their exact age brackets!  That night, Kelly and Angela went out for drinks and then were going to bring home dinner, while ben and I baby sat the kids.  We watched some awesome Netflix streaming kids shows and I feed Anamarie, though I didn't have to change any diapers!

Sunday was another nice day in Moscow, we woke up and went to the Breakfast Club, a must do if you ever visit, and then decided to do a hike to burn off the giant meal.  We figured we could hike to the top of Kamiak Butte in Washington to see the view of the Palouse.  Unfortunately, the fog was stagnating at the Butte, so our hike was fun, but no views.

Monday our we fit showed up so we all did some working out, the hula hoop was my specialty!  We took it easy on any drinking since Tuesday Morning we had to be out the door by 6 am to make their flight.

I dropped them off at the airport came home and walked the dogs with Kelly.  We started making breakfast and the phone rings, the plane due into Pullman couldn't land due to fog and so it skipped them and went straight on to Seattle.  So i went back to pick them up.  Turns out since Thursday, only 3 flights had been able to land.  Stupid Air Stagnation!  So we came back to the house and watched the Inauguration, and then hung out for a bit, and then drove to Lewiston to catch their new flight.  This flight kept getting delayed as well, so the 6:40 am flight finally left lewiston at 4:30 PM, what a long day for the Harrison's.

And thus ended our week of friends!
