McCrosky State Park, DOMINATED
Last weekend Kelly and I got a break from the constant rain, and decided to check out Idaho's 2nd Largest State Park. I bet that right there impresses you to no end.
We drove completely through it, and saw some nice views of the rolling Idaho Wheat Fields.
Margo and Chester had a good time running around on some trails with us.

Ft Tomato
Tomato growing season is over, but wait until next year! Harold and I spent a whole day building the latest squirrel barrier. It's a 4 sided chicken wire frame 8'X5' with a 5'X5' top. Harold managed to use about every power tool in his garage to put this together. It'll go up sometime in the late spring or early summer of 2009.

I made this
Throughout time the progress of man has been marked by certain epochs – the wheel, the Magna Carta, the slicing of bread, and then nothing….until now. I am pleased to present to you the next great achievement of mankind….. this sandwich I made.
I think I’m gonna call it the Lost Puppy and/or Lost Dog in honor of the Arlington establishment that helped inspire it. It starts of with a base of lightly toasted sourdough bread, followed with a layer of sliced avocado, and then a healthy dose of brie, all topped off with grilled red onions. That is the Lost Puppy – the crunch of the sourdough is contrasted with the dueling creaminess of brie and avocado, with a nice little kick from the onion. Of course, some of us might like to upgrade to the Lost Dog with the addition of a freshly grilled all beef patty – ah, delicious!!!

The Lost Puppy

The Lost Dog

Poor Camera Skills (give me a break, I was hungry)
Feel free to try this at home kids.

October Goings On in Idaho
Well October has been a busy month for us here in Idaho. The great summer days on the Palouse have left us with brisk clear fall days. We've wrapped up our garden for the year. Unfortunately the weather turned a little to quickly so we lost some tomatoes, some squash, cucumbers, and some peppers to the cold weather.
However, we were able to score some sweat Idaho potatoes and carrots from our garden. Here is Kelly after the score!.
We were honored to have Alexa celebrate her birthday with us before her trip to Seattle for work. We had a relaxing time hanging out and catching up on some video games and couch time. Chester became Alexa's best friend, following her all over the house and being at her side the entire time.

Joe Runs Army 10 Miler!
I didn't get to run it this year, but Joe did! Nate and I escorted Joe to the Pentagon at 6:00am or something really really early. The weather was a million times nicer than the year before when I actually ran, so I had runners envy all day.
Some of these are more like "Where's Waldo?"... but here's Joe just after he crossed the Memorial Bridge.
Try to find Joe in this photo of the halfway marker!
Here's the Big Finisher!!! He finished with a time of 1:34:48 and a pace of 9 minute 29 second miles. Goooo Joe!

The Renders Come To Idaho
The other weekend, Ed, Kristen, Cole, and Fenway all trekked over the Cascades and made their first venture into Idaho. Kelly and I were excited to have visitors, but also pretty nervous about having are first baby guest in our house. We wouldn't call our home "baby proof" in the least.
However, all went well. Fenway gets along great with Margo and Chester, and Cole liked all the dog action going on.
We took them to all the local hotspots, bears, wine, Patty's Mexican Kitchen, and the Garden Lounge. We had a great weekend. The photo slide show is after the break.

Neckel Updates (sorry no photos)
The bathroom is actually done and looks AMAZING! Unfortunately, our basement flooded during Hannah and we seem to have lost track of the cord to our camera. As soon as we find it, pictures will be posted.
Though the whole basement episode was no fun, all of our stuff came out OK. We just need to replace the padding under the carpet. We’re still trying to figure out how water is getting under our patio and into the window well… so until then we’ll probably be living in disarray.

Team Xtreme Season 2
The second season of Team Xtreme is destination Yellowstone. The trip began with myself and Kelly gathering all our gear and food, and cramming it some how all into the Prius. We headed out Saturday evening to go up to Spokane to get Jason from the airport. Since we have to go north to go south, we decided to spend the night outside of Spokane to not have to drive back north to get to Yellowstone the next day.
We had a nice drive to Gardiner Montana Sunday and headed to bed ready to get into Yellowstone. Monday morning we woke up and drove excitedly into the park, expecting to see something out of Jurassic Park, tons of animals running wildly through park. But alas, it was not meant to be, so we drove to our first destination, Mammoth Hot Springs.
Mammoth was something completely out of this world and our first understanding of the unique landscape that Yellowstone contains. The amount of just crazy stuff that it contains was truly astounding.
We then headed to Tower Falls to see what that was all about only to find that the path down to the view was washed out so no Tower Falls for us. But there we finally met up with Larry. We then drove over to the Canyon area of Yellowstone for our first night of car camping. Lucky for us it started snowing on the way over there. Nothing like snow when camping. We set up our tents and made the decision to hit the lounge to get warmed up. After waiting long enough for the snow to pass by we went back to the campsite and bundle in for the morning.
